Bodegas Chavarri, Larchago Reserva 2016

Flag of Spain

Established in 1882 by Francisco Chavarri, Bodegas Chavarri are today still owned and operated by his decedents. The oldest winery in the Rioja Alavesa, their knowledge and passion for the land is second to none. Larchago Reserva 2016 is made from 100% Tempranillo, taken from some of the estate's oldest vines. As a Rioja Reserva, it has been aged for 18 months in French oak before a further 18 months in bottle prior to release. Intense and complex, it has notes of juicy blackberries, plum, raspberry, clove and tobacco. Medium-full bodied with grippy tannins and an incredibly long finish. This is an awesome wine and one which pairs beautifully well with roast lamb.
